About Nancy

Welcome to my blog! I’m a proud librarian, puzzle lover, clarinet player, and adoring cat mom to Milo (12), Baraboo(10), Marmalade(4), and Noodles(2).

You can typically find me shelving books at Oakwood High School in IL. When not surrounded by books, you can find me enjoying a good jigsaw puzzle, or crocheting my next winter hat!

Omg!

Okay, I 'm freaking out right now! The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is doing a feature on my library at Oakwood High School—yes, my library! Can you believe it?! And guess what? They took solo shots of me!!!! I might be in the local newspaper!

I’ve been trying to play it cool...but, I need to brag! Is this the fame Joan Didion felt??? This is a dream come true. I cannot wait to see myself in print! Stay tuned —I’ll be sharing every detail with you!

Favorite Books

I can’t even begin to describe how OBSESSED I am with these books. I mean, they’ve shaped my soul. If I could marry a book, I’d be polygamous with these 10. Let’s dive into my ultimate, all-time favorite reads!

1. The Holy Bible
2. The Death of a Moth, Virginia Woolf
3. Play It as It Lays, Joan Didion
4. The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath
5. Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë
6. A Room of One's Own, Virginia Woolf
7. The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett
8. The Sun Also Rises, Ernest Hemingway
9. 1984, George Orwell
10. Inferno, Dante Alighieri

From the spiritual depths of The Holy Bible, to the haunting reflections in The Death of a Moth, and the wild, windswept passion of Wuthering Heights, these books are the reason I wake up in the morning.Whether you're ready to face Big Brother in 1984, unravel the twisted love in Play It as It Lays, or walk through the 9 circles in Dante’s Hell in Inferno, these reads will stay with your heart forever, I promise! Join me in my glorious obsession!

Welcome to my blog!

Hi, my name is Nancy, and I proudly wear the title of Biggest Bookworm Ever! I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I’m also Librarian of the Month at Oakwood High School in IL! And now... drumroll, please... welcome to my brand new blog, Nancy’s Nook

Fellow book lovers, this is our new corner of the internet! Every week, I’ll be geeking out about my favorite reads, the latest books on my nightstand, and all the shenanigans from my days at the library. PLUS, we’ll be diving into our Book of the Month together—read along! Our very first pick is one of my all-time obsessions: "The Death of a Moth" by Virginia Woolf. Next week, we’ll discuss this masterpiece, starting with the question: What does the moth represent in the grand scheme of life and death?

Let’s get reading!
