DOTTIE
ABOUT:
Dottie, a quiet but strong-willed fisherwoman, was once inseparable from her childhood friend April, who lived just down the road on the family farm. But on the night of June 22, 1986, that innocence was shattered in a way that would haunt Dottie forever. At just 12 years old, Dottie had never seen the dark side of the world until that summer evening. She had spent the day fishing, as usual, and was walking back to her home when she noticed a faint glow in April's bedroom window. Curiosity piqued, Dottie ventured closer, unaware that her world was about to be upended.
What she witnessed through the cracked window of the farmhouse was something no child should ever see. The faint shadows of furniture moving, the soft thud of something heavy hitting the floor. Then, the unmistakable flash of silver—rusted nail scissors gleaming under the light. It all happened so quickly; a struggle, a scream, and the sudden stillness that followed.
What troubled Dottie most, though, was the chilling sensation that the killer might have been someone they both knew—a figure who had been in and out of the farmhouse unnoticed, someone who understood the land and the people who lived there. The partial fingerprint left behind on the nail scissors was an eerie clue, but it never led to a breakthrough.
Now, as an adult, Dottie is still haunted by that night. The trauma of witnessing the brutal murder has never left her, and she feels a constant pull to uncover the truth, to piece together the mystery of April’s death. Yet, with every step she takes to unravel the past, strange things seem to happen…is the killer is still closer than Dottie thinks?
